Mr. Theodore "Ted" DeGraaf's Obituary
Theodore DeGraaf, age 89 of Largo Florida, died Saturday in his home after a long illness. Born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Lammert and Mentje (Koolma) DeGraaf. He was an Army Veteran during the Korean War and moved from Highland, Indiana to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1959. Ted retired from Sears after almost 30 years of service in 1988. He was a long term and dedicated member of Pine Grove Christian Reformed Church where he served many years as a deacon and elder. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his three brothers, George, Jacob, and John. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy, his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Kathy, and their two children Isaac and Rochelle DeGraaf, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating Ted’s life will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home (5750 49th Street N. St. Petersburg, FL) on Saturday, February 27th at 11:00 am. It is the family’s wish that contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to either Suncoast Hospice Foundation (5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760-9962) or World Renew (formerly Christian Reformed World Relief Committee) 1700– 28th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI. 49508.
