Susan Elizabeth Heeman's Obituary
Susan “Sue” Elizabeth Heeman, 63, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side, along with her loving family, on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Sue, a St. Pete native, was born Susan Elizabeth Gertsch to parents Alfred “Fred” Gertsch and Patricia “Pat” Elaine Fouser Gertsch, on February 4th, 1961. She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Heeman, daughter Bonnie, and sons Eric and Robert “Bobby” Heeman. She is also survived by older brothers Steven and Scott Gertsch, and younger brothers Stacy and Shawn Gertsch.
Sue was and always will be known as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma (Nana), aunt, and friend. Sue loved planning gatherings, throwing parties for every occasion. She always enjoyed crafting and had numerous artistic hobbies throughout the years. Sue loved plants, garden décor, and feeding all the wildlife that came to visit her home. The yard of her home where her and husband lived over the past 30 years, is truly a work of art, and displays the beauty and wonder of her spirit.
To say she will be missed dearly by all of those that loved her is an understatement. There are just no words. Her surviving family and friends will forever keep the cherished memories of her close to them, until they are united together again.
A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be held at a later date and will be announced.
