Steve George Jr.'s Obituary
George, Steve Jr., 85, a long time resident of St. Petersburg, passed away at his home in Williston, Florida April 29, 2008. He was a member of Morriston Baptist Church and a member of the Williston Golf Course. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army-Air Corp sending weather messages from the frozen Arctic of Greenland in support of the war's D-Day planning and execution. His son survives him, Steve E. George, two daughters, Gwen Westerfield and Gail Coppens from the St. Petersburg area; two sisters, Rose Klein of Michigan and Julia Takach of West Virginia, and one brother, John of West Virginia; five grandchildren, Robin Clark, Dena Westerfield, Melissa Mattson, Ryan Yoho, and Evan Coppens and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Kirby Lynn Clark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice, in 1998. Death visited him quietly as he sat in his favorite chair.
Memorial service to be held grave side on Saturday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery 5750 49th St. N.
