Stephen John Fitzgerald Morrow's Obituary
Steve, originally from Philadelphia, passed away on January 20, 2023. Steve was the beloved son of Catherine Fannelli and the late, James F. Morrow, Sr. Steve was the fourth of five children and is survived and will be missed by his siblings: James (Claire), Michael (Carol), Cathy Altimari (Dave) and Maryann Cummiskey (Don). Steve was loved and adored by his nieces and nephews: Erin, Joyce, David, Liam, Veronica, Sean, Colin, Julia, and Matthew and many great nieces and nephews.
As many know, Steve went to “12 years of Catholic school” and was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. Soon after high school he joined the United States Navy where he served four years and was Honorably Discharged. While in the Navy, he was a Hospital Corpsman and was fortunate enough to learn a skill that he carried with him into his civilian life. He began his career as an Ophthalmic Technician at Soll Eye Associates in Philadelphia and after his move to the Sunshine State, Steve worked at Baycare Medical Group for 25 years. This is where Steve met many friends that became family to him.
Steve moved to Florida in 1998 and never looked back! He loved the outdoors and spent much of his time fishing, horseback riding and being in and around the water. He was an animal lover and could always be seen around the dogs in his neighborhood, but none did he love more than his buddy, Jake! Steve was an avid (Philadelphia) sports fan, and this passion led him to The Sports Bar and Grill, where he could be found most Sundays in the fall watching and cheering on his beloved E A G L E S surrounded by friends, who again were like family to him. Steve was adventurous, strong, fearless, and brave. He loved helping and making other people happy.
Family and friends are invited to Steve’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Memorial Park Funeral and Crematory, located at 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709.
