Spencer Lee Blydenburgh Jr.'s Obituary
Spencer Lee Blydenburgh, Jr., 87, of St. Petersburg, Florida sadly passed away on November 8, 2023. Spencer was born in Gulfport, Florida on November, 26, 1935 to his parents Spencer Blydenburgh Sr. and Myrtice Blydenburgh. He was notably a part of the very first graduating class at Boca Ciega High School. Spencer served in the United States Navy for 4 years aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S Tarawa CVS-40. Spencer worked for 35 years as a postal clerk at the St. Petersburg Post Office and was a proud member of the American Postal Workers Union until he retired. He and his wife were faithful members of Northwest Presbyterian Church for 48 years.
Spencer is preceded in death by his parents, Spencer Sr. and Myrtice, as well as his brother, Harold Blydenburgh. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Blydenburgh; sons Paul (Caroline) Blydenburgh and John (Bonny) Blydenburgh; daughter Amy Blydenburgh; grandchildren Paige Blydenburgh, Matthew Blydenburgh, Jessica McMahon (Joseph), Jared Blydenburgh, Kelsey Gahan (Robert), and Brooke Blydenburgh; step-grandchild Jessica Lee; great-granddaughter, Baker; step great-grandchildren Brielle Lee and Aleena Fey; as well as many more extended family members and close friends who truly cherished him. Spencer will be dearly missed and always remembered by those who love him.
The family will receive visitors at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at noon, and a committal service in Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
