Mrs. Shirley A. Durka-O'Connor's Obituary
Durka-O’Connor, Shirley A., 80, Pinellas Park, FL, passed away on November 19, 2017. She was born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Muskegon, MI to parents, Harold B. Martin Sr. and Florence Chellis Martin of Muskegon, MI. She was preceded in death by her first husband Walter J. Durka of Grand Rapids, MI and second husband Albert J. O’Connor, Jr. of Johnstown, PA. She owned and operated Bay Area Hypnosis in Seminole, FL, for 30 years. A member of St. Mathews Roman Catholic Church, she was most proud being one of the founding member of Circle Care. She was an Eucharistic minister, a member of De Colores Via De Cristo Sunbeam #11 in St. Petersburg, FL, Columbiettes Fr. Lopez #5737, Polish American Club St. Petersburg, FL, and Pulaski Association Holiday, FL. She is survived by her children Cindy (Charles) McCarthy, Shirley Eaton, Marlene Bouchard, Jerri-Lynn (Bob) Fleer, Lisa (Glen) Westlake and Dawn Plunkett; 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; and Donna (Donald) VanMunster, Betty Henry and Harold (Sheila) Martin. She was preceded in death by Edmond Bouchard, Jr. and Carol Jaunese. A memorial service will be held at St. Mathews Catholic Church, Friday, December 1st at 10:30am.
