Sheila Clayton's Obituary
Sheila May Clayton passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. She was born on May 1, 1930, in Hernando, Florida, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Basil Ellis May, Sr. On January 24, 1953, Sheila married the love of her life, the late William Milton Clayton, Sr., of St. Petersburg, Florida. There she spent almost 60 years being a part of the St. Pete community. Sheila loved to play bridge with her friends, travel the world with the American Stage Theater Company, an avid reader, dog lover, and a proud Floridian.
She is survived by her three children, Sheila Snyder (Charlie) of Franklin, North Carolina, William M. Clayton, Jr. (Kim) of Douglas, Georgia, Katie White (John) of Columbia, Tennessee, and her five grandchildren, Christopher Gregory (Lucy), Matthew Clayton (Erin), Alana White Thomas (Kyle), Ashley Clayton Scarce (Curt), and Logan White (Ashley), as well as 12 great grandchildren; all who fondly called her “Mim.”
Her family offers a heartfelt appreciation to her amazing caregivers and Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care.
A grave side service will be held at Memorial Park in St. Petersburg, Florida on Friday, February 11, 2022.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to High Hopes Development Center in Franklin, Tennessee (301 High Hopes Ct.) or the American Stage Theater Company in St. Petersburg, Florida (163 3rd St N, St.)
