Sandra Scott's Obituary
Sandra Scott, 79, of Seminole, FL passed away May 31, 2024. She was born on May 10, 1945 in Stamford, CT to James and Teresa Tennant. Sandy came to St. Petersburg, FL as a young child. She was a 1961 graduate of Northeast High School. She then went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked in several doctor offices. Later she became a Provider Relations Representative at Cigna Healthcare and then worked as a Pharmaceutical Representative. She retired in 2003.
Sandy had a love for West Coast Swing dancing and was a founder of the Tampa Bay West Coast Swing Association, a non-profit organization, in 2010. She worked hard as a volunteer to share her love of dancing and was instrumental in growing the large community of West Coast Swing dancers in the Tampa Bay area that exists today.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Stoddard, just 3 months ago. She will be missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Jim; her daughter, Susan Whaley and spouse, David Williamson; her son, Tom Scott and wife, Sharon Fountain; her son-in-law Jim Stoddard, her sister, Norma Steinmetz, her sister-in-law Cheryl Scott; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
An informal graveside gathering will take place on a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Suncoast Hospice. (https://suncoasthospice.org/Donate/)
