Salomea "Sally" Montroy's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Salomea Teresa “Sally” Montroy
November 18th, 1928 – June 17th, 2026
“Independence guided her; kindness defined her.”
Sally was born in Detroit, Michigan, and from an early age showed the determination that later marked her career. She worked as a secretary with the Cadillac Division of General Motors, where her hardworking and supportive spirit helped colleagues feel valued every day.
Creative by nature, Sally loved to knit and quilt, turning simple yarn and fabric into useful gifts. She carried that same creative spark onto the lanes with her bowling league, encouraging teammates with her compassionate presence.
Travel called to Sally and her late husband Floyd Montroy, and together they joined the Model A Restorer’s Club of Michigan. Their many cross-country trips displayed both her love of adventure and her commitment to shared community interests.
At home in Southfield, Sally delighted in the raccoons that visited her property and cherished the companionship of her cat, Smokey. Each small act of care reflected the same kindness she extended to people.
Sally is also preceded in passing by her sisters Regina Mathews, Jessie Osmialowski, Bernice Ploski, and Delphine Copeland. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews to carry on her independence, kindness, creativity, hard work, compassion, and support.
Our community remembers Sally as a woman who dedicated her life to service through everyday actions. Her legacy invites us to approach work with dedication, hobbies with joy, and one another with unwavering care.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life at Hope Lutheran Church in Hudson, Florida on Thursday, June 25th at 11 am with a reception to follow.
