Safija Vitkovic's Obituary
Safija Vitkovic, 72, of Tuzla, Bosnia, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
Born October 3rd, 1945 in Tuzla, Bosnia, she was the daughter of the late Emira and Bego Nukic and sister to seven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dragoljub; three sons, Goran, Igor and Dalibor; five grandchildren, Igor, Aleksandar, Neven, Nikoli and Viviana.
Safija had a great love of music and as a young lady traveled throughout Europe singing and supporting her family after her father passed at 36 years old. She had an endless love and passion for her family and helped her son’s and their wives raise her grandchildren. She is remembered for her colorful voice, big heart, warm hugs and delicious pita. Her lullabies will be carried through her legacy to her children and grandchildren, “ Ljulja ljulja ljuske bere baba kruske”.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 19th, 2018 at Memorial Park Funeral Home 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
