Ruth C Spangler's Obituary
Ruth Caroline Spangler passed away on Jan 11, 2025. She was born Dec 19, 1928 in Masontown, West Virginia.
Ruth was the daughter of Roy and Mary Spangler. She received her bachelor’s degree from Westminster University and a Masters in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Ruth was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.
Ruth worked in education for over 41 years, first as a teacher and later as a principal at Betsy Ross Elementary in Mahwah, NJ.
Ruth was an avid traveler, visiting 32 different countries. She enjoyed watching sports on TV, particularly the Tampa Bucs and Rays. Ruth was also a frequent attendee to the orchestra and theater productions. She enjoyed volunteering at church and spending time with family.
Ruth is survived by her brother Charles Spangler (Naomi), 8 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews and 18 great-great nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother Edward R Spangler.
A viewing will be held on Friday, 1/17 at Memorial Park in St Petersburg, FL from 11:00am to 12:00 noon. A Celebration of Life will be held in late February at the Allendale Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the AccentCare Hospice of Pinellas County.
