Ruth Naomi Myers' Obituary
Ruth Naomi Myers, 94, of St. Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at her home. Born August 29, 1928 in Waynesboro, PA. She was the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Knight) Metz. Ruth was a member of Clearview Baptist Church since 1956. She, along with her husband Wayne, were the founders along with three other couples. She loved teaching in children’s church. She was known for her pie baking. She worked for the Lealman Elementary School in the cafeteria for Pinellas County. She received many certificates for volunteering at the school and for working with the children. Ruth is survived by her husband Wayne of 74 years of marriage; four children: son Albert (Janet), daughters Carol (Ted), Sandy (Ron), Flora (Greg); 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, two great-greatgrandchildren. Ruth is also survived by three sisters Mary Hardman, Bernice Tosten, Alice Uglow and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents as well as her brothers David Metz and James Metz.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Clearview Baptist Church, 4301 38th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33713, at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
