Ruth Clifford Hubert's Obituary
HUBERT, Ruth Clifford 93, found her final peace on Saturday Aug 28. From age 17 on she paved the way for women in aviation everywhere. For her work as a test pilot with the Women's Air Service Pilots (WASP) during WWII she was recently honored the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal of Honor in Washington D.C. Ruth was a founding member of the National Civil Air Patrol in 1942 and remained active in the Pinellas County Chapter most of her life winning many more medals for her accomplishments. including teh Amelia Earhart Award. She is preceded in death by husband Peter and leaves behind her son Clifford, daughter Linda, Granddaughter Samantha Hubert, Grandson Patrick Benson, Nancy Benson and Great Granddaughter Bridget Ruth Benson. All are invited to join us in a Celebration of Ruth's life on Sept ll from 2-4 PM at the Hangar Restaurant at Albert Whitted Airport in Downtown St. Pete.
