Ruth Elizabeth Harrower's Obituary
Ruth Elizabeth Harrower (née Lindow), aged 88, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in Pinellas Park, Florida. Born on November 24, 1937, in Verona, New Jersey, Ruth dedicated her life to the care and well-being of others, both through her professional and personal endeavors.
Ruth spent her career as a Registered Nurse specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology, specifically in Labor and Delivery. Her compassionate nature and expert care left a lasting impact on countless families, guiding them through one of the most significant moments of their lives.
Outside of her professional life, Ruth was deeply committed to her family and community. She was a beloved figure known for her altruism and hands-on involvement in various charitable activities. Ruth handcrafted thousands of cards for active duty service members, enabling them to stay connected with their families. Her kindness extended to knitting winter gear for orphans in Tennessee, ensuring they stayed warm during the cold months.
Ruth is survived by her loving children, Donald Harrower and his wife Brenda, and Katherine Cherry and her husband Thomas; her grandson, Brian Harrower and his wife Victoria; step-grandchildren, Danny Cherry and his wife Valerie, and Thomas Wayne Cherry and his wife Ann; and numerous step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Roy Lindow and his wife Nancy, and Kristina Cooper and her husband Buryl. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William John Harrower, who died in 1995.
Ruth's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. Her life exemplified the virtue of service, both in her career and in her personal life, making the world a warmer, more connected place.
Services will take place Friday, May 8, 2026, at Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street Succasunna NJ 07876 with burial to follow in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Times to be confirmed.
