Mrs. Ruth E. Brandt's Obituary
BRANDT, RUTH E., 88, of Clearwater, Florida passed away June 5, 2015. She was born to John Howard and Rowena Snow on December 5, 1926. She was married to Russell Brandt and resided in Union City, Michigan for the majority of her life. She was a graduate of Union City High School and Western Michigan University. During the later years of the war, her time was spent at the Percy Jones Hospital, as a medical secretary, where the wounded soldiers were being treated. She said when all the girls would walk into the hospital to start their shift, the soldiers would start whistling. Ruth also worked at the Union City Schools and later at the Health Department in Battle Creek.
She was a member of Union City Congregational Church, life time member of OES Star, member of PEO sisterhood, and a lifelong resident of Union City until she was no longer able to care for herself due to her illness of Alzheimer’s.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Jane Morse-Swett (David), her son, David Brandt (Noralin), and grandchildren, David Morse, Meghan Aquino, Erin Morse (Tracy), MacKenzie Stuck (Jamie), and Matthew Brandt; great grandchildren Sofia, Leah, Katherine, Austin, Evelin, and Elliot; her niece, Nancy Thomas and nephew, Mark Snow.
