Rose Delores Grado's Obituary
Rose Delores Grado passed away peacefully to her heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, just three days after her 97th birthday. Rosie was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 26, 1925. She was the daughter of John and Sara (Torregrossa) Grado. She was a devoted catholic who lived as an honorable Christian. She was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church and had been active in church activities.
Rosie worked in Manhattan all her life until retiring to St. Petersburg, FL in the late 1980’s. Rosie was admired for her kind and generous spirit. A holiday event never went by without her sending a greeting card to each family member and friends. She had a bright smile and cared deeply for other people. Her example made the world a better place; she will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased in death by a brother Samuel and a sister Helen Grado. She is survived by her cousin and lifetime friend Josephine Matracia, nephews John and Robert Grado and niece Cathleen Grado. Throughout her long life, Rosie enjoyed the love of many friends, great nieces and nephews, and godchildren whose lives she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM., Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7851 54th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709. Friends and relatives will be received from 9 to 10 AM. at the church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, St Petersburg, FL at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions in Rosie’s name be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, St. Petersburg, FL.
