It's hard to put into words what Ron meant to me and our family. As grateful as I am to have had him in our lives for 51 years, it's still not enough. He was ALWAYS there. He stood at my wedding, was there when Tyler and Mikayla were born, every holiday, birthday, home project, graduations, everything. He was such an important part of our lives, it seems impossible to imagine the future without him here, without his quick wit, infectious smile and warm presence.
As an animal lover, he was instrumental in Rick and I getting our first dog - Gabby. Darlene and I later returned the favor, Darlene was with him when he adopted Rusty and I was with him when he adopted Raven - his beloved dogs. He cherished Rusty and Raven, almost as much as they adored him. Our family gatherings always included all of our fur babies as they were all important pieces to our family puzzle.
Ron was incredibly loyal and protective. He would give you the shirt off of his back. He was quiet but sentimental and maintained many friendships throughout years and across distances. He was my baby brother, but I looked up to him, leaned on him, asked his advice and confided in him. He was my rock. I was so proud that he was my brother.
I'm not sure what the days ahead will be like, other than feeling a huge empty space without Ron here with us. I have some peace in knowing that he is now with our brother Ted and hopefully catching up while fishing or playing video games, with Rusty and Raven by his side wagging their tails, happy to be reunited.
Ron, I will miss you more than I can express, appreciate all you added to my life and love you so much.
Love always, Jeanette
