Roger Glen Owens, Sr., 86, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026. Born on March 13, 1940, in Georgetown, South Carolina, Roger lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.
Roger was the proud owner and operator of Owens Construction, where he built not only structures but also a legacy of hard work and craftsmanship that will be remembered by those who knew him. Outside of his professional life, Roger was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for hunting and fishing. He wasn’t just a fisherman—he was a "catcherman," renowned for his unmatched skill in reeling in fish. Many cherished family memories were made on the water with Roger at the helm, sharing his expertise and joy for the sport.
Roger was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty A. Owens; his son, Roger Glen Owens Jr.; and his grandson, Jeffrey Allen Haas. He is survived by three devoted daughters who carry forward his legacy, Renee Owens Bland, Carmen Owens Haas, and Tiffany Charise Owens; four grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren who will continue to share stories of their time with him for generations to come.
