Rodger Wade Couch's Obituary
Rodger Wade Couch, 78, of St. Petersburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2024. Rodger was born on May 3, 1945 in Athens, Alabama to his parents Clifford W. and Sarah Couch. The family moved to Florida when Rodger was 10 years old, and when he was of age, he joined the military and served in the United States Marines at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.
His life's work was masonry, something he was very proud of, and he was known to always help with projects for friends and family and was always going out of his way to ensure his work was no less than perfect. This desire to help others extended into every other aspect of life. To his family, he always had a solution to a problem and was always there with unwavering support through any hardship. Unsurprisingly, Rodger was a man of faith, and dedicated his life to his beliefs. He was especially moved by the teachings of Charles Stanley who helped him deeply connect with his Baptist faith. Rodger was, through and through, a good southern boy and like anyone hailing from Alabama, was a lifelong fan of the University of Alabama football team (Roll Tide!), always making sure to watch them play. Aside from Alabama football, Rodger's other hobbies were many, but he especially loved to go bowling and enjoyed listening to classic county music.
Rodger is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Sarah. He is survived by his loving daughter Shannon (Jon) Faerber, his grandchildren Eric (Richelle) Faerber and Heather (John) Lopez, great-grandchildren Nicholas Lopez, Alexander Lopez, and Lucas Faerber, his brothers James and Clifford Couch, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rodger is remembered as a loving Dad, Pop, PawPaw, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He will be dearly missed, but always cherished by those who love him.
Services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, April 8, 2024 beginning with a visitation and viewing from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a short service beginning at 2:30. Following this, there will be a graveside ceremony in Memorial Park Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
