Swan, Robert W., 'Bob', 'Big Bird', 73 of St Petersburg died Jan. 25, 2008 at Palms of Pasadena Hospice. Born in Washington, DC, he was raised in St. Petersburg. He retired after 32 years service from GTE/Verizon. He was well known as 'Big Bird' at work where he was well liked. He and his wife traveled and camped throughout the US and he enjoyed cooking and eating crabs while watching the Buc's play. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Helen; son Robert (Jan) of St. Louis, MO; step daughters, June, Patricia, and Suzanne; 3 grandsons, Patrick, Kevin and David; granddaughter, Beth; 2 great granddaughters and one half-brother Frank. He was well loved by his friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
