Robert Russell Rollins' Obituary
Robert "Ruby" Rollins of St. Petersburg, FL, began his new journey on April 6, 2013 at the age of 70. Born in Charleston, West Virginia on July 7th, 1942 to the late Raymond and Nancy Rollins, Bob graduated from South Charleston High School. Such a larger-than-life man, he had many names; Ruby to his friends, Dad/Pop to his children, Papaw to his beloved grandchildren, and many secret names left unspoken with his wife Kathy. Bob knew no strangers. He returned each glance with a smile, a handshake, or a joke that would leave you laughing or groaning for time. To him, all the world was his family and family was the most important thing to him. He would be your father, your grandfather, or your uncle, whatever your heart needed.
He retired from Florida Power in 2001. Bob was an avid wood worker and enjoyed building toys for his grandchildren. Nothing would put a sparkle in his eye more than a new tool or a beautiful design to use that tool on. As an adventurer he loved to travel, especially visiting the mountains or cruising.
Bob is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 53 years, Kathleen Rollins.
