Robert Emmett Daly Jr.'s Obituary
Robert E. Daly Jr. of Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born on September 27, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Robert E. Daly, Sr. and Louise D. (Wildermuth) Welch. He grew up in West Roxbury and Arlington, Massachusetts and was a 1961 graduate of Arlington High School. In 1963 he became a member of the Pipefitters Local Union #537, worked for Crane Plumbing & Heating in Cambridge, MA and was President at D & G Mechanical, Inc. until he retired in 2003. In retirement, he continued to contribute to the Plumbing trade working as an instructor and Project Manager for Harding and Smith.
He was a proud 43-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and a 20-year member of the Sons of the American Legion. Bob loved going out to eat, spending time with his friends at local restaurants and “The Legion” and contributing to many charities.
Bob enjoyed his summers living in Salem, New Hampshire and York Beach, Maine spending time with longtime friends and family. He had a great love for old cars owning a few in his day, such as a Chevy Nova, Ford Mustang Mach 1 and a Chevy El Camino. He attended and brought along his grandson, Macklin, many car shows throughout New England and the Ty-Rods Old Timers Reunion annual car show, faithfully.
He is survived by daughters Jill Daly (Timothy), Kim Daly (Scott), Heidi Ford (Jeffrey), and Bobbie Tryder (Timothy). Grandchildren Kileigh, Macklin, Kiera, Finnegan, Cameron, Tessa, Elle, Grayson, Alexa, Jack, Caleb and Nolan. Great Granddaughter Cori and several nieces. He is pre-deceased by his daughter Tracey as well as his sister Anita Louise Daly Jones.

A memorial ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m, in the Chapel at Memorial Park, 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709
