Robert "Bob" James Lieber's Obituary
Robert (Bob) James Lieber, 64, of St. Petersburg, Florida, reunited with loved ones in heaven Mom (Judy Reed) & Dad (Franklin Galloway)on December 2, 2025. Known for his kind heart and generous spirit, Bob was born in St. Petersburg. As a child, he lived in many places. HIs dad, JIm Reed, came into his life as a teenager. In 1983, Bob married his wife, Marlene and built a family together with her. He worked hard his entire life and poured his strength, love, and loyalty into his family.
Bob loved working on cars and did so as an automotive mechanic since age 16. After retiring he worked as a custodian at his church, St. Luke's UMC. Then for the last decade (10 summers-as he would count it) he took pride in keeping the grounds at Memorial Park in top shape. He always pushed himself to set the example for others to follow in honest dedication of doing his personal best. Bob made a positive impact on the men and women he worked alongside his entire life. He worked hard and played hard. Smiles thinking about the jokes he had and his compassion for others will always be cherished.
Bob loved being on the water. Fishing, boating, and quiet days in the sun brought him joy, especially when shared with his beautiful wife, children, and grandchildren. Family was everything to him, and his greatest pride was the life and love he built with them. Known to bring flowers home to his loving wife just because she’s the best, making her tea the perfect drinking temperature every time, his granddaughters their first rose at birth, a pocket of lollipops, and movie dates with popcorn and M&Ms. He will always have a special place in their hearts on this side of heaven. Memories of him will stay alive forever in honor of the love he had for them all.
Known by many names, Son, Brother, Sweetheart, Dad, Papa Bear, GrandpaBob, Grandpa is survived by his Parents James Reed and Marian Galloway, brother Mike (Rommy) Lieber, devoted wife, Marlene; his beloved children, Christopher (Laurie) Lieber and Marie (Mike) Brown; and his cherished grandchildren: Kyle (Gabby), Brandon, Katelynn, Madison, Abigail, Gwendolyn, Mia, Mariah, and Marian. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Elliana and was over the moon excited for another great grand-daughter, Lilliana on the way. All brought him so much delight. His faithful dogs, Rolo and Louie, were always by his side.
A memorial service to honor Robert’s life will be held on January 10, 2026. The family welcomes all who knew and loved him to join in remembering a man whose heart was as big as the sea he loved.
Bob will be deeply missed, yet his legacy of love, generosity, and strength will live on in the lives of all who knew him.
