Mr. Ricky Bahrey of Pinellas Park, Florida, passed away unexpectedly February 18, 2019 in his home. He was 63.
Ricky was born July 18, 1955; the beloved son of the late Gregory and Theresa Bahrey. He began his career as a mail clerk with the United States Postal Service before retiring as a Customer Service Supervisor. In his free time, he enjoyed playing poker and participating in various slots tournaments around the country. Ricky had a competitive spirit as a successful softball player of 37+ years where he won several state tournament championships throughout his softball career. After his time as a player, he continued to share his passion for the sport as an umpire in various adult and youth leagues in the community. In addition to his passions for gaming and softball, Ricky was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with family. He is survived by two sons, Nathan (Michele Geiger) Bahrey and Jonathan Bahrey; sister, Linda Kitko; brother, Gregory Bahrey and three grandchildren, Jakob, Piper and Capri. In addition to his family, he also leaves behind several teammates, colleagues and friends who will all miss him dearly. Family will gather for a visitation from 3pm - 5pm Friday, March 1, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709. Friends and family are encouraged to share their condolences and memories of Ricky at 4pm, Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to a trust fund established for the benefit of Ricky's grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the Michele Geiger Trust Fund for the benefit - In Trust of Piper Bahrey, Capri Bahrey and Jakob M Geiger-Turner c/o Bank of America 11682 N Williams St, Dunnellon, FL 34432.
