I served with Richard at United States Coast Guard Station Ocracoke, NC. He was a great friend. He was very passionate about the art and science of Seamanship and helping Mariners in distress. He was a credit to himself and the United States Coast Guard.

We'll always remember conversations with Richard at Blossom Lake Park. He enjoyed talking about many topics including the latest NFL games, politics and his time in the Coast Guard. He also shared his pride and love for his sons and grandchildren. It was fun to see Richard's joy as he rode around the park with Finn and interacted with the wildlife. Thank you for sharing your kindness, Richard. All of your neighbors will miss you on this "peninsula on a peninsula on a peninsula" you called home.

Lots of fun memories with Rick in Kentucky while visiting family. He enjoyed the hills of Kentucky and the boys on "Wolf Hill". Sorry to hear about his passing, embrace those memories! Prayers for all of you!
