WOW! What a fighter. I think Rick treated that terrible cancer like he played baseball, down to the final out in the final inning. A terrific friend. Loved talking baseball and softball with Rick, an expert. At least that is the way he presented himself. He was also a great time when he was the DJ at social events, Our family of friends and players were much richer by knowing Rick and his family.
So very sorry to see Rick’s obituary in this mornings legacy. Our initial exposure to Little League Baseball began when he began to teach Angela the fundamentals of softball. As parents JoAnn and I learned that coaching girls at that age was a challenge in and of itself. Don’t know how he did it! Then after Angela came Allison who was more of a challenge for him. We had so many wonderful experiences with all of the family.
I hope I was able to help Rick with his dealings with the VA. He always seemed to appreciate the advice I was able to offer. It was my pleasure to share what I knew.
My thoughts and prayers are with all as you deal with his loss, and begin to navigate through the grieving process.
