Richard John McCoy's Obituary
McCoy, Richard John, 87, of Pinellas Park, passed away on June 9, 2012 at home. He was born in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada, but he is from Oregon. He returned to the Bay area from LaPlata, MD in 1990 after retirement. He was an electrical engineer with Southern Md Electric Coop, Florida Power, and General Electric. Dick served in the U.S. Navy beginning in 1945 and stayed in the reserves until 1955. He was a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg. He, also, was a Mason, a member of the Lions and Optimist Club, and a Red Cross Volunteer. He was an avid golfer. He loved to travel and he was an excellent Bridge and Poker player. Survivors include his daughters, Nancy A. Delgado, Gainesville, and Carolyn E. Livingston, Fayetteville, AR, and his son, Carl W. McCoy, St. Petersburg; three grandchildren, Mark and Ryan Delgado and Julie McCoy; his sister, Alice Haley, Port Orchard, WA; Sister-in-laws and Brother-in-laws: Louise Sifford, Winter Haven, Hardy (Gail) Giddens, Davenport, Alvin (Mary) Giddens, Sherwood, AR; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florice, his son-in-law, Lance Livingston, his brother-in-law, Wendell Haley, his sister, Florence Haley, his brother, Robert McCoy, and his parents, Louis & Amy McCoy. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 13th from 3-5 PM, the Memorial Service will be on Thursday, June 14th at 3 PM with Rev. Robert Coughenour to officiate, both at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th St N, St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center, Hospice, or your favorite charity.
