Mr. Reece A. Medley's Obituary
Reece Allan Medley 80, of Clearwater, FL passed away
Dec. 11, 2017. He was preceded in death by the love of
his life, his wife of 23 years Susan Kay Medley, whom
he called Susie; and his beloved mother Florence E.
Smith; his father James C. Smith; and his birth father,
Woodrow Medley. He is survived by his four children;
Lisa Going (Dean), Clearwater,; Jason " Dae Dae"
Essig (Kathleen), Seattle, WA; Jeffrey Medley (Nicole),
Parrish; and Richard Medley (Jennifer), Clearwater,
as well as his grandchildren, Ian, Shaina, Gabrielle,
Hunter, Wyatt, Ava and Eli. Reece was born in
Dayton, Ohio and moved to FL in the ‘60's. Shortly
after he began racing greyhounds for many years,
followed by a career as a commercial truck driver.
"Pop" as many of his close loved ones called him,
enjoyed a love of sports with his friends and family
that will be forever cherished. He was not just a
tall and fearless man as many saw him, he had a
tender heart towards those truly close who loved
him unconditionally. Graveside services will be
held Sat., Jan.13, 2018 at 1:00 at Memorial Park
Cemetery, St. Pete, FL.
