Rebecca Eudora Smith's Obituary
Rebecca Eudora Clark Smith (70) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, March 1, 2024 in her home surrounded by her daughters and sister. Becky was born January 23, 1954 in New Port Richey, FL to Lloyd and Grace (Fanning) Clark. Her birth was actually a miracle. Grace lost a previous child during childbirth and was told she would never be able to have any more children. Two years later, she had surgery to remove a tumor, and it was discovered during the surgery that the tumor was actually a baby. The doctor told Lloyd that the baby would never survive and recommended they end the pregnancy. Lloyd chose life instead for his child, and several months later, Rebecca was born. Becky grew up in Elfers and Tarpon Springs, FL and moved to Seminole in 1962. She attended First Baptist of Elfers where she gave her life to the Lord at the age of 8 years old in Mrs. Fritz’ Sunday school class. In 1975, Becky married the love of her life, Paul Smith, and they had three daughters together. Being a mom was Becky’s favorite job. She was born to be a mother and she loved pouring into the lives of her children. In fact, the only thing she loved more than being a mom was being a grandmother. Becky began teaching Sunday school as a teenager and she continued in this ministry at each church she attended for over 20 years. Becky also began teaching at Keswick Christian School in 1991 where she was the elementary art teacher in addition to teaching PE, coaching cheerleading, monitoring the safety patrol program and countless other jobs over the course of 31 years. During this time, Becky taught hundreds of students each week, and she made it her priority to teach every child about Jesus and to let them know that they were loved. She has been called daughter, sister, wife, mom, friend, teacher, coach, Grams, Grumps the Gladiator, and most importantly, child of God. Becky is survived by her husband, Paul, 3 daughters, Jenifer, Joy (Jackson), and Jane (Alex), 7 grandchildren, Riley, Joel, Hannah, Catherine, Samuel, Seth, and Silas. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth, and 2 brothers, Bill (Brenda) and John (Kathy).
“All for Him!”
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:17
