Rachael Ann Haskell, 49 passed away on January 5, 2022, in St. Petersburg, FL. She was born October 6, 1972, in Attleboro, MA to loving parents Roger Proulx of St. Petersburg, FL and the late Carleen Proulx whom passed on July 23, 2021
Rachael was the wife of the late Rhoden Haskell for nearly 20 years at the time of his passing in 2016
She was an amazing woman with a rare neuromuscular disease causing her to need an electric wheelchair. From an early age you knew she was destined to have a career in helping people. Growing up in South Attleboro alongside her big brother Rodney, family and amazing parents who encouraged her to follow her passion, believe in herself and live every day to the fullest and that is what she did. Rachael became an advocate for the disabled. She was a onetime poster child for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Rachael along with her husband moved to Florida in 2001 where she flourished in the field of social work.
Besides her father, she is survived by her fiancée Schawn Williams, sister-in-law Anji Maskell and nephews Brendan and Dylan and niece Keilli. Also, several aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends
Preceded in death by her brother Rodney Proulx, maternal grandparents Carlton and Rita Smith. Paternal grandparents Edmond and Betty Proulx, and Mother-in-law Judy Cotter
Rachael’s pride and joy came from being the best mommy to her pups, Little Bear, Ellby, and Butterfly. She trained them to be service dogs and they shared in her everyday adventures. She also wrote several books for her young patients using Little Bear and Butterfly as the stars that would help patients work through their traumas.
Rachael graduated from Attleboro High School, Class of 1990. Then earned her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees from Rhode Island College. She went on to earn her PhD from the University of South Florida.
Rachael was the founder and owner of Resolution Today, a private practice offering therapy, life coaching and training. She was also the Director of Clinical Services at Phoenix Counseling Services. A former instructor at several Universities. PhD, LCSW, Certified Hypnotherapist and Life Coach, A R T & EMDR Therapist, Licensure Supervisor, and published book author.
Rachael’s laugh, beautiful smile and singing voice could light up a room. Her positive attitude and gentle manner made her a friend to anyone she would meet. She dedicated her Life’s work to helping others who suffered with trauma. Always thinking of others, Rachael helped so many heal.
She leaves behind laughter and memories that will be cherished by all she has touched with her generosity, kindness, wisdom, and compassion. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her Wings were ready, Our Hearts were not. Fly high our Sweet Rachael.
