Greenwood, Phyllis Jean's Obituary
Phyllis Jean Greenwood (née Sanders), aged 97, of St. Petersburg, FL, went home in the arms of Jesus on July 22, 2025. Born on January 2, 1928, in Portage, Wisconsin, Phyllis had a fulfilling life marked by her deep faith and commitment to serving others.
A proud registered nurse, Phyllis dedicated her life to helping people, truly embodying the virtues and compassion required in her profession. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, as she had a membership to the Clearview United Methodist Church. Phyllis also held the distinction of being the oldest living member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Portage, Wisconsin, a testament to her enduring spirit and community involvement.
Phyllis was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Seastrum, and grandsons, Daniel Seastrum and Stanton Huffman. She is survived by a loving family: her son Robert Greenwood Sr., son Mark Greenwood and his wife Tammy, daughter Kelly J. Huffman, grandsons Bobby and Sean Greenwood, Brandon Huffman, and great-grandsons Robby and River Greenwood. A third great-grandchild is also eagerly anticipated.
A service to honor Phyllis's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, at 1 pm at the Christian Service Center located at 4800 37th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33714. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed at https://cscenters.org. Phyllis's life of service and devotion will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
