Phuoc Thanh Tran's Obituary
PHUOC THANH TRAN, 74, of St. Peterburgs, Florida passed away on Saturday,January 21, 2017 at
the Moffitt Cancer Center of Tampa, Florida.Visitation will be held at 4:30 PM, Thursday,
January 26 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home located at 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709.
Funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, January 27 at The Holy Martyrs of Vietnam Pastoral Mission Church 9099 90th Avenue North, Largo, Florida 33777.
Burial will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery 5233 118th Avenue North. Clearwater, FL. 33760.
Phuoc was born April 15, 1942 in Soctrang, Vietnam. He graduated from Doan Thi Diem High School 1962
and from Vinh Long College in 1964 with a degree in Education.
On June 28,1964 he married the former Trieu My Nhung in Soctrang Vietnam.
In 1966 he joined the South Vietnamse Army. Following his discharge from the Army he was appointed Principal of the Truong Khanh Elementary School.
In 1982 he immigrated to the United State as a refugee and later owned and operated a pawn shop business. He enjoyed his work and only retired a few years prior to his passing.
He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Phuoc is survived by his four sons, Phuong Tran and his wife Trang of Pinellas Park, FL,
Phi Tran and his wife Van of Pinellas Park, FL,
Phong Tran and his wife Dieu of Orlando, FL, and
Phu Tran and his wife Muoi of Pinellas Park, eight grandchildren and his sister Thu Tran of Bound Brook, New Jersey.
