Phillip A. Cordosi's Obituary
On August 9, 2022, 69-year-old Phillip A. Cordosi passed away while in the care of Hospice in St. Petersburg, Florida. Proceeding him in death are his sons Craig and Christopher Cordosi, sister Barb Cordosi, and parents Anthony and Beverly Cordosi.
Born to Anthony and Beverly Cordosi of Jamestown, NY on January 11, 1953, Phil went on to enlist in the Air Force with his best friend, Michael Giambelluca in 1971. During his service, he was an exemplary soldier consistently at the top of his class. After giving 8 years of dedicated service to our country, he was honorably discharged in 1979. Using the skills he developed in the Air Force to his advantage, he became an expert cable splicer as he worked his way up to higher and more respected positions within the company such as trainer, project manager, and supervisor. After more than thirty years of committed work well done, he retired in 2014 to enjoy his well-deserved free time as a loving husband, father, grand and great-grandfather.
He loved his wife Denise Cordosi well and this is shown through the many projects they worked on together as he built his identity as a craftsman of stained-glass artistry. The pride Phil felt for his son Scott was apparent whenever Phil spoke of him and his accomplishments as a hard-working father. Known as Papa to his many grandchildren, there was none more a joyous grandfather than Phil Cordosi.
He is survived by his devoted family including his wife Denise Cordosi, brother Mike and sister-in-law Cindy Cordosi, son Scott Cordosi and daughter-in-law Shelly Duncan, stepdaughter Danielle and son-in-law Ricky Cefaratti, stepson Pete and daughter-in-law Kenzie Spano, grandchildren Ciara and husband Keith Coddington, Hayley “Peanut” and husband Zach Gutshall, Jillian and Vinny Cefaratti, Jakob and Ava Spano, Neil and Tristan Trivitayakhun, and Leland Cordosi, along with great-grandchildren Joseph and Ashton Coddington, and Emry Skye Gutshall.
Phillip A. Cordosi will be remembered for his hot temper, his magnificent handmade eclairs, his annual job of choosing which grandchild would act as Santa’s elf each Christmas, his indulgence of his wife Denise, and— more than anything— the incredible force of his devotion for his loved ones. He will be dearly missed. A Life Celebration with Military Honors will be held on 9/17/2022 at the American Legion 7550 60th St, Pinellas Park, FL 33781 from 1pm -5pm.
