Peggy Ross' Obituary
Peggy Ross, "Mrs. Ross" later known as "Oma", passed away on January 30, 2019. During Mrs. Peggy Koehn Ross was born May 10, 1957 in Dodge City, Kansas. She was very involved in many school activities such as cheerleading and twirling. Her dad Keith owned an electrical supply house where Peggy worked as a young girl. After high school graduation she went to Kansas University. She bought herself a new car and headed to Houston, Texas for new adventures. That’s where she met her husband of 40 years, Tom Ross. Her first son Edward was born there right before the family packed up and moved to Florida. Her second son Michael was born a couple years later. Peggy always had a love for learning & decided to go back to college to get her teaching degree. She graduated (summa cum laude) from University of South Florida in 1991. Peggy taught at many schools with her longest tenures at RioVista Elementary and Southern Oak Elementary. She inspired many to strive for excellence. Peggy settled for nothing less from herself and her students. In her many years of teaching, she mentored many and was nominated for teacher of year. Her love for her students was obvious to all. The families of her students loved her and became friends. Peggy loved her family and spending time with them. The light of her life was her granddaughter Juliana. No two people were ever closer. Seeing them together was a sight to behold. It made your heart smile to see them together. Peggy had many friends who loved her and appreciated her sense of humor and huge smile. She always found the good in people. She is survived by her husband of 40 plus years Tom Ross; sons Edward and Michael Ross; grandchildren Juliana, little Josh, Alexis, Austin Ross; sister Candy; brother Randy; aunts Mary Herbert and Dottie; nieces and nephews; sister and brother's-in-law; many students and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16 at 11am with a reception to follow.
