Pearl B Lang's Obituary
Pearl Lang, 88, died November 29, 2014, in St. Petersburg, FL. Pearl passed away peacefully at her home with family and friends by her side.
Pearl was born April 25, 1926, in Harrisburg, PA. In 1945, Pearl graduated from Ferndale High School and in 1948, she received her Registered Nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Johnstown, PA. She worked as a nurse for many years, first at Mercy, then at Indiana Hospital in Indiana, PA and then at St. Anthony’s Hospital St. Petersburg, FL.
Pearl is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom (March 7, 2013); they celebrated 62 years of marriage November 2012. She is survived by sons, Thomas R. Lang II, St. Petersburg and Douglas B. (Diane) Lang, Palmetto; two precious granddaughters, Sydney Diane and Mackenzie Blue Lang, Palmetto; sister, Patricia Pete, Henderson, NV.
Pearl was a faithful and devoted Christian who found much joy in serving God. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, dedicating 50 years of service to her cherished church. With a loving heart, and a giving spirit, she was involved in many activities including her Sunday school class and member of her Share group. She was full of energy and will be remembered for her kindness and keen wit.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 4444 5th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, the Pastor Lynn Batista officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church or Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33760.
