I posted this note about Patti on FaceBook on March 17, 2015 and wanted to share it here too.
My aunt Patricia Morehart died at 1am this morning, brave until the end. Boo to cancer!
I was born on her 18th birthday, which gave us a pretty special connection...she celebrated her birthday like it was a national holiday, which was always loads of fun! She sent me a birthday card every year on "our" birthday. Each one was filled with glitter and confetti (so there's where some of my glitter stunts were learned), a little burst of love from Florida. We sang "Happy Birthday to us" every year, and this year was no different. We knew it would be our last, our song was so precious.
Patti struggled for most of her adult life with one physical ailment or another and beat cancer multiple times! She never complained, just moved through whatever she had to do. She loved her husband, had good friends and enjoyed her collections (stamps, crystals, M&M items, etc.).
She was a strong woman, and I think it's fitting that she died on St. Patti's day! She would have liked to be remembered on a day that was filled with fun, glitter and a little booze! You'll always be a Saint to me...I love you Aunt Patti...thank you for so many memories.
