Patricia "Pat" Barnett Wilson's Obituary
Patricia “Pat” (Barnett) Wilson, of St. Petersburg, passed away on February 19, 2019 at the age of 82. Pat was born in Liverpool, England on June 21, 1936. Her family moved to Leigh, Lancashire during the war where she grew up. Pat met and married her husband, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. She came to the United States in 1957 and made her home in St. Pete. Not long after, in 1961, she set off with her family on a 10-year European adventure.
In 1971 Pat returned to the U.S. and set about acclimating herself and her children to a life stateside. She began a career in real estate as a secretary in 1974 at Orange State Realty. Pat stayed in the business for many more years, ending her career as a broker and General Manager of Tourtelot, Inc. After Pat retired, she made a point to travel as much as she could. One high point of her travels was a trip to China with her cousin. Pat was a member and past president of the Holy Family Women’s Guild.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, David A. Wilson. She is survived by her three children, Lindsay A. Wilson, Susan Elizabeth Wilson Walling and David Anthony Wilson. Pat is also survived by eight grandchildren, Matthew D. Shea (wife Shelly), Patrick A. Shea (wife Jessica), Daniel P. Lavin, Ellen C. Lavin, Elizabeth C. Lavin Owens (husband Daniel), Harrison Michael Walling, John Thomas Walling and Joseph Woodrow Walling (wife Joanna). Pat was blessed to have 5 great-grandchildren.
Through the years Pat passed on sage advice both personal and in business. She was a trusted confidante and much admired for her work. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
