Patricia R. Day's Obituary
Patricia R. Day, 80, of Inverness, Florida, passed away July 20, 2015, at her residence in Inverness. She was born March 24, 1935, in St. Petersburg, to the late William F. and Margaret N. (Lloyd) Stiles. Patricia was a Lutheran by faith, and a Department Manager in the banking industry. After retirement, as a cancer survivor, she became very dedicated to causes for assisting cancer victims. She was a co-founder of the Cancer Foundation of the Florida Keys, and was very active in raising funds for the needs of cancer victims; and provided advice and support for cancer patients, survivors, and their families. She arrived in this area in 2005, coming from Big Pine Key. Upon her arrival, she became very active as an official in a national cancer organization. She loved fishing, boat camping, scuba diving, and other water activities, and traveled extensively. Patricia loved life and people, and celebrated her 60th birthday by skydiving. She was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin L. Stiles.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Carl B. Day. Other survivors include son, John Michael (Amy) DeChant III of Canton, North Carolina; her niece, Carolyn (Peter) Nelson; nephews, Al (Tammy) Stiles, Royce (Lisa) Warren, Darron (Kim) Stiles; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
