Such wonderful memories of Orville, starting when I first met Maddie and Orville in 1961. We all had many wonderful times together. Orville was the first person to introduced me to country western music. Among our memories, we all camped together and traveled to Atlanta together Orville was one of the best examples of a loving loyal husband, father and friend. He will be missed, but never to be forgotten. I regret not being at the service or celebration, being we are in NC for the summer. My thoughts and prayers were with you all. My heart goes out to Maddie and family. You and all of us are so blessed to have Orville in our life.

I was Orville's aunt but 2 yrs younger than him..I remember him patting me on the head and saying "my little aunt" and everyone would laugh. I will miss him!

I always looked up to Orville, as a kid he was the tallest man I knew, until I grew up and was able to look him in the eye. He and his family were such fun, keeping us all laughing and he never came or left without hugs and kisses. Keep the smiles and laughter Maddie, the hugs and kisses and he will always be with you.
We love you all and even though we can't be there in person, we are with you in spirit.

We were more like brothers than uncle and nephew. He came to visit every summer, we could hear him yelling his head hanging out the car window so excited to see us. We had many good times swimming in the creek and eating mamas blackberry pies.
I will really miss him.

I will miss Orville visiting me every summer. He was a special nephew. When he was little aunt jean and grandma took him to church. He loved to sing and country music was his favorite, at the service he asked jean to tell them to sing pistol packing mama.

I was fortunate to have worked with Orville when I started in 1984 until he retired in 1996. He was a friend and mentor to me as a young man, my patrol supervisor and when I was a young sergeant. We shared many great times together as co-supervisors on midnights. He has been a true leader and mentor to so many officers and future leaders. His professional legacy will always live on through the actions of those who were fortunate to have been touched by his wisdom. I am grateful for everything I learned from him.
