Orene J Deming's Obituary
Deming, Orene, 94, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at Gulf Shore Rehab and Nursing Center in Pinellas Park. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Gerald McGovern of Pinellas Park; a granddaughter, Kimberly Smith of Vero Beach and her four children, Angela Smith, Kayleigh Fee and Rhiannon Fee; a step-grandson, Christopher McGovern of East Norriton, Pennsylvania and his four children, Erica McGovern, Colleen McGovern, James McGovern and Michael McGovern, as well as many nephews and nieces scattered throughout Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. She was predeceased by two husbands, Dwight L. Moody and Joseph B. Deming.
Born in Dozier, Alabama, she resided in Washington, D.C., Arlington, Virginia and Fairfax, Virginia before moving to Seminole over 50 years ago. Shortly after moving to Seminole she and Joe Deming helped to form a small lending-library utilizing donated space, used books and volunteer help. This eventually became the first SEMINOLE LIBRARY, where she was a volunteer worker for many years.
She was an active member of SEMINOLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH before the onset of her illness. A memorial service will be held at that church on August 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to SEMINOLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 5400 Seminole Boulevard, Seminole, Florida 33772.
