Grandma accepted us Krueger kids, despite not being blood related. That did not matter to her. She loved us like her own. When my brother and I visited her over Christmas break in college, she welcomed us in and we were able to stay with her for a couple weeks. She seemed to welcome many people into her home throughout her life.
I remember at Grandma's house there was ALWAYS sweet tea in the fridge. Now up north the tea is not sweet but I remember as kid really enjoying it. Of course you had to have ice with it!! She also made a really yummy creamed corn and onion soup when one was not feeling well.
Grandma was one of the few members of the family that went to visit our family in Guinea, and also made the trip to Indiana for my wedding. She was fun to have visit.
Despite living far away, she would send me a birthday card and Christmas card every year. In the cards I could see her love for the The Lord and how she wanted others to know Him.
Love you Grandma and miss you!!! Enjoy Jesus and I will see you again.
