Olga S. Rados' Obituary
Olga, Rados, 80, went on to be with the Lord on 8/23/07, after living with Alzheimer's for 12 years. She passed away peacefully at The Vineyard Inn ALF in Seminole. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and raised in Yugoslavia she enjoyed her life with her father and stepsister until WWII came to Yugoslavia. . She participated in underground Nazi resistance organizations for which she was briefly imprisoned in a concentration camp. After WWII, she returned to the land of her birth leaving behind family and friends because she refused to live under communism. She was a very proud American. She met her husband- to-be in Chicago, had two daughters and moved to St Petersburg in 1959. She loved music and was an accomplished piano player. She passed on her love for music to her children and many surrounding neighborhood children through teaching lessons and giving yearly piano recitals. Her bookkeeping skills and education were utilized at her employment with St Anthony's Hospital for 16 years where she was often called upon to help translate for patients from Slavic origins. After retiring from St Anthony's, she passed her love of music on to her grandchildren. Her other interests included the beach and swimming. She was a devoted loving mother and grandmother who will be very much missed. Olga is survived by daughters, Vera Rados Ponce and husband Mark Ponce of Seminole, Florida and Nada R.Grant and her husband Keith E. Grant of Seminole, Florida, two grandchildren Justin and Nadine Grant.
