Oakley "Rocky" Vernon Burrow's Obituary
Oakley "Rocky" Vernon Burrow Jr.,72, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15th, 2023. He was born August 18, 1950 in St. Petersburg, FL to Nell and Oakley “Tex” Burrow Sr., who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Cheryl and their extended family: Mary and Jimmy, Mike and Loni, Lisa and Cheryl, Keith, Larry, and six cousins, Laura, Robert (Bobby), Donna, Janet, LeeAnn, and Sherry Lee.
Rocky was a strong, smart, and giving brother and friend. No matter what, he had your back and was always ready to help whenever and whoever needed him. Rocky was in the Food and Beverage management business for most of his life, including 10 years in Key West. Once he settled back in St. Petersburg where he retired, he loved being a volunteer at Epic/Suncoast Hospice. He was even their Volunteer of the Year one year. Rocky enjoyed weekend trips with his sister to festivals and events around Florida, meeting new people, and enjoying new restaurants. We will miss his bright smile, sense of humor and delicious cooking.
Safe journey my brother, our friend. 'Till we meet again in a better place.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date which will be announced soon.
