Norman Benjamin Oropeza's Obituary
Norman Benjamin Oropeza, age 75, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on 09/10/2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on March 3, 1950 in San Jose, California, Norm, better known by his family as Papa, was the beloved son of Jose Maria Oropeza and Esther Oropeza. He grew up in San Jose, CA and was an expert in all things automotive repair and restoration.
Norm will be remembered most for his love and commitment to his wife, children, and his grandchildren. He enjoyed working on cars, baking, and watching old westerns and action movies. He truly cherished every moment spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Oropeza; his children, Octavia Oropeza, Aisha Oropeza, Brittany Hurst, Alexandra Prosperous, Stephanie Quinones, and Norman “Jon” Oropeza; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Rhiannon, Ezaki, Malachai, Layla, Dixon, Ella, and Cannan. He is also survived by his sisters, Racquel, Violet, and Yvonne; brothers, Les and Anthony; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember him fondly. He was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Esther; brothers, Joseph and Arthur; and granddaughter, Norah Bella.
A celebration of life service will be held on September 18th at 11:00AM at The Life Church. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of his life.
Norman’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
