Norman H. Dehnke's Obituary
Dehnke, Norman H., 80, of Pinellas Park died Friday, April 6, 2007 at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute. Born in Berkley, MI, he came here in 1984 from Bloomfield Township, MI. He served in the Navy during WW II and Korea. He was a police officer with the city of Detroit police department from 1948 to 1952, then served as a police officer in Farmington, MI from 1952 to 1958, he became Chief of the Bloomfield Township police department from 1960 to 1966, from 1966 to 1984 he was head of Loss Prevention for the Borman Food Co.; he worked in security for the St. Pete Yacht Club from 1985 until 2000. He was Lutheran and a member of Cross of Christ Church in Bloomfield Township, a member of the Lion's club, and he enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis; two daughters, Janice Barnett, The County, TX, Cynthia Dehnke, Wolverine Lake, MI; two sons, Norman P., Sylvan Lake, MI, Timothy, Franklin, TN; two sisters, Violet Lindsey, Mascot, TN, Alberta Obett, St. Johnsbury, VT; a brother, Wilfred, Carpenteria, CA; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
