Nancy Roberta (Stiles) Lefebvre's Obituary
Lefebvre, Nancy Roberta (Stiles), 79, born 12-14-1936 completed her journey to heaven on 9-23-2016. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen F. Stiles, her father, Elmer O. Stiles, her brother, Fred Stiles and sister Bernice Rasmussen. Nancy is survived by her husband, John R K Lefebvre of 50 years and 3 months of marriage, her son, John R K Lefebvre, 2nd (Mary), sister, Martha Heffern (Larry), brother's, Joseph Stiles (Barbara) and Thomas Stiles (Loni), 2 granddaughters, Michelle DiMascio (Phil) and Catherine Lefebvre, 14 nephews, 11 nieces, 23 grand nephews, 17 grand nieces, 5 great grand nephews and 8 great grand nieces.
Nancy is a life long resident of St Petersburg having been born at Mound Park Hospital (now Bayfront Hospital). She was a bookkeeper and worked for Fred Rasmussen's Accounting and Tax Service.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for over 68 years where she sang Alto in the youth and sanctuary choirs. She sang a solo "Trusting In Thee" at the churches affiliation with radio station WSUN during the 1960's. She sang with the St Petersburg Opera Guild Chorus in the opening number at the newly remodeled Mahaffey Theater in November 1965, and "The Creation" at Pasadena Community Church in November 1975. She also sang duet's with her sister Martha throughout Pinellas County churches and community centers.
Nancy was very active in her church functions including teaching elementary Sunday school bible studies, the hand bell and chime bell choirs and Spirit Bound Choir for many years.
Her favorite song was "The Sound of Music" and the original soundtrack was often heard in her home. She was a volunteer at Day Star Life Center where she worked in the clothes pantry.
Nancy took self-improvement classes and learned how to model high fashion clothing at the age of 29.
On October 1st, 2014 she and John moved out of their home of 48 years to Westminster Suncoast Retirement Community where she made new friends and met old friends from her church.
The family will be having a private committal service at the cemetery. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in the sanctuary of Christ United Methodist Church, 467 First Avenue N, St Petersburg, Fl on October 11th, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall via elevator to the 3rd floor. Free parking is directly across from the church on First Ave N.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be sent, in Nancy's name, to either the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
