Mildred S. O'Brien's Obituary
O'Brien, Mildred Shultes, 91 of St. Petersburg died Wednesday, May 18th at Hospice House Woodside. She was born in West Berne, New York March 26, 1916, and moved here in 1956 from Schenectady, New York. She married Edward O'Brien on July 31, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1962. She was a school teacher in Warwick, NY; Berne, NY and Schenectady, NY. After moving to Florida, she worked as a social worker for The Children's Home Society of Florida, as a hostess for Greyhound Tours and for Suncoast Surveys at the St. Petersburg Times. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church for 50 years and St Mark's UMW. She also had been a member of the Eastern Star in Berne, NY. She is survived by a son, George O'Brien, Sparta, NC; two daughters, Alice Jean Hall and Peggy O'Brien both of St. Petersburg and sister-in-law Alice Weitz of St. Petersburg. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
