Mrs. Mildred E. "Millie" McCollam's Obituary
Mildred E. “Millie” McCollam of St Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 20, 2019 with her loving family by her side. She was 77.
Millie was born Tuesday, December 9, 1941 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire; the beautiful daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Martell. After moving to St Petersburg in 1960, she began her career with several organizations including Webb City, ECI and Milton Roy. Later in life she came into her passion and embarked on a new career path as a successful realtor in the Florida Real Estate market. She was a long-time member of Transfiguration Catholic Church of St Petersburg. Along with her husband, she was a life-time member of the VFW Post 4364 in St Petersburg.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Maxwell McCollam (2009); her youngest daughter, Patti McCollam (1994) and a brother, Allen “Lee” Martell (2017). Millie is survived by her two beloved daughters, Cathy Carver (Mark) and Denise Motes (Jim). She also leaves behind a stepson Philip M. McCollam, Jr and two step-daughters, Kathy O’Dell and Alice Fitzpatrick. Millie is the dear sister to Albert Martell (Gyneth), Joan Fulcher (Ray) and Jean Evans (Bill). She was the loving grandmother to several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, dear friends and extended family.
Visitation will be 2pm – 4pm Sunday, April 28, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home 5750 49th St. N, St Petersburg, FL 33709. Funeral service will be 9am Monday, April 29, 2019 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Philip in the Garden of Honor of Memorial Park Cemetery.
