Michael C. Riley's Obituary
Michael C. Riley 67 of St Petersburg, FL passed away Monday, July 6, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones following a tenacious & courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Hartford, CT on September 7, 1952 to the late Charles Riley and Mary Kapustynski. Mike graduated Bloomfield High School in 1970 and served his country in the US Air Force as a Civil Engineer during the Vietnam War. After serving his county, Mike was proud to have served as a Lieutenant in the Blue Hills Volunteer Fire Department where he was a member for several years. Mike became a master electrician and founded Riley Electric Company in 1975 in the Hartford, CT area. Moving to St Petersburg, in 1990, Mike continued Riley Electric Company Inc., based in Largo, FL and founded Digger 1 LLC a few short years later. Mike guided the growth of both businesses for many years, to great success. Mike enjoyed a full life, spending time with friends & family where he shared his passions of, boating, fishing and Sports, especially Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mike is survived by his daughters, Sharon L. Riley (St Petersburg) and Lindsey R. Riley (Pinellas Park), His grandsons, Riley C. Novotny presently serving in the US Navy, Donald A. Pollock IV and Chantz P. Arbanas (Pinellas Park,) brother Daniel Riley (Windsor Locks, CT) and sisters, Eileen Whalen (Southwick, MA,) Patricia Riley (Bloomfield, CT,) Marion Buck (Bradenton, FL,) Kathleen Bruni (Rocky Hill, CT,) and Eric Weinstein (St Petersburg, FL,) Edward Noger (Seminole, FL.)
There are no calling hours. There will be a private service for the family with a public memorial planned TBD when Covid restrictions allow.
