Michael Hayes Carroll's Obituary
Michael Hayes Carroll, 63, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2024, following a cardiac arrest. Born on October 25, 1960, in Jackson, TN, Michael moved with his family to Wisconsin at the age of seven. At just 13, he began working for the Unified School District in Racine, Wisconsin, and later graduated from Horlick High School.
On March 13, 1982, Michael married Randee Carroll, ex-wife, and together they had their only child, Melissa Carroll. The family relocated to Florida, where Michael and Randee raised their daughter in St. Petersburg. The couple was married for over 20 years. In 2003, Michael spent a few years in Colorado and then returned to Wisconsin before moving back to Florida in 2014 to be near his daughter and his only grandchild, Terrell Carroll, as well as to enjoy the warm weather he always loved.
Michael was passionate about martial arts and had a love for travel. He was known for his generous heart and never hesitated to help others. His sense of humor and ability to bring joy to those around him will be fondly remembered.
Predeceased by his parents, Henry Hayes Carroll and Betty Jean Carroll, Michael is survived by his sisters, Jeweline Nunn (John Nunn) and Sylvia Rolle (James Rolle); his brothers, Calvin Carroll, Gregory Carroll, and Antonio Carroll; his daughter, Melissa Carroll; and his grandson, Terrell Carroll.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park, located at 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to assist with covering the cost of placing Michael’s ashes in a cemetery, creating a lasting tribute in his memory or contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Michael Carroll.
